Coronavirus (Covid-19) and IMSC 2021 - Update

covid-2019

Dear all, due to the Coronavirus crisis, the organizing committee of IMSC 2020 and IMSF decided to postpone the conference to February 07 to February 11 of 2021.

We will keep you updated through our regular channels. Deadlines and program will be rearranged soon.

February is summer time in Brazil and Rio should be in its warmest and sunniest week. We then look forward to welcoming you to Brazil, and the charming and warm city of Rio. There we hope to celebrate the end of the pandemic all over the world and the most recent major contributions of mass spectrometry to humankind via science, and particularly in fighting the virus.

On behalf of the Brazilian Mass Spectrometry Society (BrMASS) and the scientific committee of Rio2020, we would like to welcome all of you to the 23rd International Mass Spectrometry Conference (IMSC 2021) – February 07 – February 11 - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil.

For the first time ever, the IMSC will take place below the Equador, in the south hemisphere of the globe. For us Brazilians, it’s indeed a pleasure that our country was the first choice, not only because of our natural beauties, but also for our growing contribution to science and MS. Brazilians are also known for their warm hospitality (we very much enjoy hosting visitors from all over the world), and together with the city of Rio de Janeiro, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, we are ready to host the 23rd edition of IMSC.

The IMSC2021 venue is the Windsor Oceânico hotel, which is located in an area called “Barra da Tijuca”, known as the “Brazilian Florida”. This magnificent area, with some of the best beaches in Rio, is the financial, gastronomic, lodging and entertainment center of the city. It was also home to most of the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games.

IMSC 2020 will cover all aspects of mass spectrometry, from fundamentals to instrumentation and applications, with the most recent findings and innovations and a very selected group of renowned speakers but with a great addition: our "Brazillian seasoning".

The conference is organized with short courses, oral and poster sessions, workshops, awards, commercial exhibitions, as well as very exciting social programs (including an opening dinner, hospitalities suites, gala dinner, beach breaks and more), and companies user meetings. All major MS companies are supporting Rio2020 and will be in the exposition area presenting their latest products and innovations.

We are working very hard to make Rio 2020 the largest and greatest ever IMSC and for it to be an exceptional occasion for you to enjoy science, to grow your network and make new friends and colleagues, to get new ideas for your research, for establishing new collaborations, starting new projects, and more; all in the unforgettably warm, beautiful and charming city of Rio de Janeiro!

Please come, bring your students, invite friends and colleagues and contribute to make Rio2020 a very successful, most amazing and unforgettable IMSC ever!

You are very welcome to RIO2021!
